SYH is opening its doors for the day! The Workshop Open Day offers the opportunity to meet the team, see the facilities first hand, and get to know the site.
Whether you are a prospective berth holder, if you have a boat needing maintenance or restoration work, or you are looking for career opportunities, the SYH Workshop Open Day is the ideal opportunity for a chat with our experts.
The well-lit, ventilated workshop at SYH houses specialist areas for all aspects of boatbuilding and boat maintenance. As well as a 130ft long, two-part spray and preparation bay, there is a custom joinery and machine shop and a dedicated area with the right environment and temperature for work on classic yachts.
From classic and GRP boat restoration and refits to paint and Coppercoat application, the team in the SYH workshops will be on hand at the Open Day to discuss all manner of projects.
The workshops at SYH are supported by the boat moving team, which has a hoist capacity of up to 75 tonnes as well as cranes for lowering and stepping masts, and a large hardstanding area.
Alongside the SYH facilities and services are 11 onsite marine businesses, which make up the one stop shop at SYH. Working independently and collaboratively with the SYH team, the partner companies offer expertise in sail making, rigging, electronics, engineering, electronics, brokerage, surveying and more.
