As the weather turns autumnal, so begins a busy boat lifting season at Suffolk Yacht Harbour. With the largest hoist capacity for leisure boats between Bridlington in Yorkshire and The Solent, SYH is well prepared to lift vessels of all shapes and sizes ahead of the winter months.
SYH boat movements manager Aaron Woolf commented, “Lift-out season has already begun with boats coming out of the water as normal. We have an experienced team and a range of equipment to make efficient use of time and hard standing space.”

Aaron continued, “We are able to lift boats safely and securely with owners present, or we can contact a customer once their boat is out of the water. We currently have hard-standing space and winter storage packages available; please get in touch if either of these are of interest.”
Boat owners intending to have their masts taken out over the winter months are encouraged to notify SYH at the start of the season, so the team can ensure crane access when needed.
The boat hoists and cranes available at SYH have the capacity to lift vessels weighing up to 75tonnes, measuring 80ft overall (25 metres) length and with a beam of up to 20ft (6 metres). SYH’s boat movements team is also able to un-step and step masts up to 90ft (27.5 metres).
As part of its boat movement services, SYH also offers transportation and logistics with start-to-finish project management. Whether it is transport for a vessel by road or sea, SYH can organise every step of the process.
