News & Events
Thank you to everyone who took part in this year's Classic Regatta. With competitive and varied racing out on the water and socialising in the sunshine ashore, a fantastic weekend was had by all. Well done to Andrew Gilmour and his crew onboard Stella Timoa, who won overall. See below for a breakdown of all the results.
As the summer draws near and the marina is filled with the sound of people tinkering on boats, our thoughts turn to the adventures to be had in our local cruising grounds. We might be biased, but we think we are spoilt for choice! With the beautiful River Stour and River Orwell on our doorstep providing stunning scenic sails, rural stop-offs and idyllic waterside pubs, it is no surprise that many of us struggle to decide where to drop anchor. But, fear not, here are our top three locations to help you plan your next trip...
Following a successful launch of the new modern shower blocks beside the workshop, work has begun on renovating the facilities at the east end of the marina (beyond the harbour room).
This second development includes extending the current building to create a much larger space and will ensure berth holders, visiting sailors and motorboat owners are within a short walk of our new-style shower blocks wherever their boat is berthed.
After the success of last year’s event, excitement is building as we draw ever closer to the highlight of our 2018 sailing calendar, our Classic Regatta, set to take place on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th June.
As returning competitors will know, we enjoyed impeccable weather and an unforgettable regatta with perfect sailing conditions last year. As well as a magnificent weekend of racing, the regatta is also a proud celebration of classic boats. Local and visiting classic yacht owners enjoy the opportunity to sail in a fleet of beautiful classic yachts at Suffolk Yacht Harbour, a memorable experience and truly spectacular sight.
