Chandlery manager Richard Gadd says that online chandleries are not always as competitive as they might seem and challenges berth-holders to ask him for a quote before shopping elsewhere.
"Before you spend, come and talk to us. If you have seen it cheaper somewhere else, come and ask. We are always happy to look into it. Please e-mail me for a price," said Richard.
He added that shopping in person, rather than online, also meant better, more personal service – and the opportunity to ask for advice, especially when making a major purchase.
"Even if we don’t have what you want in stock, we can always get it for you, usually within a couple of days," he said. "At this time of year suppliers are keen to do deals. And if you buy it from us, you don’t have to pay carriage charges, and if there is a problem, we will deal with it!"
