Whether your boat is still in the water, or laid up ashore, it's important to keep the interior aired and as dry as possible during the winter - and a dehumidifier can be a big help here!
XM dehumidifiers, just in at the chandlery, are available at the very reasonable price of £125.95.
Chandlery manager Richard Gadd says: "They feature a hot gas defrost function which means they can be used at cold temperatures, and they can be plumbed in. These are features that are not normally found in DIY store type models."
Alternative solutions to the problems of damp and condensation, also available from the chandlery, are Moisturemate and Pingo Nautic moisture traps.
And, if your boat is attached to shore power to run a dehumidifier, it's a good idea (especially if you are leaving bunk cushions, foul weather gear etc on board during the cold weather) to provide some background heating as well.
Another winter best-seller, available at the chandlery, is the Coldwatcher heater which has frost stat protection.
