Little auk

Little auk from WikipediaWe’re always delighted to welcome foreign visitors to SYH and this autumn have seen a particularly unusual one – a little auk, spotted by several people around the crane bay over several days. These little birds, related to puffins and guillemots, breed in the high Arctic and come south for the winter. Sadly we didn’t manage to get a picture, so this one is from Wikipedia.
