Refit of Oyster 406 Leading Wind

Completed in the summer of 2015, the newly refurbished workshops at SYH offer repairs and renovation work on classic and contemporary sail yachts and motorboats using the latest in marine technology. Among current projects, including the impressive renovation work on classic yacht Cayenne, is the extensive refit of Oyster 406, Leading Wind.

Little auk

Little auk from WikipediaWe’re always delighted to welcome foreign visitors to SYH and this autumn have seen a particularly unusual one – a little auk, spotted by several people around the crane bay over several days. These little birds, related to puffins and guillemots, breed in the high Arctic and come south for the winter. Sadly we didn’t manage to get a picture, so this one is from Wikipedia.

Rolex Sea DwellerAs usual we are dredging part of the marina over the winter period – this time it’s around jetties G, H and I at the stern of the lightship. You never know what you might find when you’re dredging, but this year has thrown up one of our biggest surprises ever!
