Dredging under way

If you're down at SYH you will notice that the winter dredging programme has begun. The area from Jetty E to the marina entrance is being dredged and work should be complete by early March.

Meet the Professionals 2013

This year the Meet the Professionals weekend, held on Saturday October 26 and Sunday October 27, saw each team based in their own premises instead of being at the Harbour Room as in previous years.

Pilot boats named

Naming of HHA pilot boatSuffolk Yacht Harbour hosted the naming and blessing of the two newest pilot boats for the Harwich Haven Authority on 14 November.

St Edmund and St Cuthbert were moored at the base of jetties H and I, so that the many visitors had easy access to the marquee and Harbour Room.

Naming ceremony

Naming ceremonyA naming ceremony was held at SYH on September 19 for the Inshore Fisheries Conservancy Authority’s new fast patrol boat, John Allen.

After a welcome by Phil Haslam, CEO of IFCA Eastern, there were blessings and prayers from Rev John Waller and Rev Sam Leeder before the official naming by Councillor Hilary Cox.
