Two new apprentices have come on-board at SYH to join our highly skilled boat building team at our on-site workshop.
Joining us for a four year apprenticeship, James Noble, 19, and Albie Algar, 18, will combine traditional training with hands-on work in the boatyard.
The pair will be working under the close supervision of our experienced shipwrights including Robert Clarke, who himself started working at SYH more than 15 years ago as an apprentice. They will share their expertise repairing classic and modern boats from 20’ to 70’ with James and Albie, as they each undergo training in specialist areas.
With the cold weather still with us, the London Boat Show provides a chance to get your winter sailing fix and this January, SYH will be part of the action.
Taking place at ExCel London between 10th and 14th January, SYH will be at the London Boat Show talking to visitors about everything our marina has to offer those who enjoying sailing or cruising on the east coast. Joining us will be some of our onsite businesses, including Classic Marine chandlery, Evolution Rigging, OneSails, Mr Stainless, French Marine Motors, Sea Power Marine Electronics and the East Anglian Sailing School.
The boatyard at Suffolk Yacht Harbour is looking to recruit an experienced boat builder to join the renowned SYH team.
Within the workshop, our highly skilled team of craftsmen focus on shipwright and joinery repairs. We are looking for a new, talented boat builder who is looking to add classic and modern boat building to their repertoire.
