Suffolk Yacht Harbour has a full, temperature and humidity controlled spray shop which can paint vessels up to 70 feet (21 metres) in overall length. We also offer osmosis treatment, guaranteed for five years. Our first class workshop also features two spray booths, full automatic fire systems and flash proof lighting.

Hull antifouling

Exclusive to Suffolk Yacht Harbour on the east coast, our eco-friendly Coppercoat service will keep unwanted marine life at bay for over a decade and reduce annual maintenance. With two cradle supports available in our spray shop, we are able to seamlessly spray apply hard wearing and densely copper filled resin to your boat. Whilst the Coppercoat is being applied to the hull, the air temperature and humidity levels in the workshop are monitored and recorded along with the batch numbers of the Copper itself.

Topsides and superstructure

Jotun Megagloss and Awlgrip are the two primary paints applied to the topsides and superstructure in order to achieve the highest possible standard of finish. We are happy to advise on which product would be best in order to give your yacht or motor cruiser a 'brand new' look.

Osmosis

Osmosis is the blistering and decomposition of the gelcoat that allows water penetration into the GRP hull structure. This issue continues to plague glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) vessels below the waterline, particularly as they get older. Suffolk Yacht Harbour is experienced in the complete elimination of this problem by thorough gelcoat peeling, shot-blasting, careful drying and final finishing with a hard, impenetrable coat of epoxy resin. Guaranteed for five years and approved by West System, we have applied this reliable treatment for more than 25 years at Suffolk Yacht Harbour.
